As creators of a floating pool skimmer robot designed to help pool owners and reduce pool energy usage, we’re always excited about events that highlight the field of robotics. National Robotics Week, established by Congress and iRobot in 2010, is designed to raise awareness about the importance of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and how these subjects play a role in shaping the future of education, industry and the U.S. economy.
Headed by founder and lead organizer iRobot, the technology-focused week is all about celebrating the United States as a leader in robotics and inspiring students of all ages to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related fields. Additionally, National Robotics Week demonstrates the positive, societal impacts of robotic technologies.
The National Robotics Week website has a variety of cool resources for anyone interested in learning more about robotics. There are even trading cards for famous robots. Although our little robot wasn’t recognized with its own trading card (so naturally we made our own trading card), we are proud of the fact that our robot is completely solar-powered and provides a valuable service for pool owners. We’re always looking for ways to make our robots work harder and smarter, so that’s why we created the all-new Solar-Breeze NX2. With improved performance and durability, this hard working robot keeps pools amazingly clean and cuts down on pool pump running time, saving money for pool owners.
We are inspired every day by robots, and love the fact that National Robotics Week offers such a great variety of educational resources, events and activities for robot enthusiasts young and old.
