Phoenix is one of the fastest growing cities in the country.  Between July 2015 and July 2016, we added over 32,000 people to our population, according to US Census data.  That beats out close contenders like Los Angeles, San Antonio and even New York City.  And as our city and infrastructure continue to grow, so does the startup community throughout the metro Phoenix area.

It takes a special spirit to live in harsh desert conditions, and it takes that same fearless nature to be a successful entrepreneur.  But Arizona is dedicated to supporting and nurturing startups, from our Governor – an entrepreneur himself, to great institutions like ASU.  Both are participating in Phoenix Startup Week, which got rolling today.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey knows what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.  When asked about his participation in Startup Week, he said, “Arizona is leading the nation when it comes to growing our economy, and our startup ecosystem continues to play a role in this growth.”  And Ji Mi Choi, Associate Vice President of Knowledge Enterprise Development at ASU commented that Startup Week celebrates “the myriad and diverse Main Street entrepreneurs” who are a foundation of national economic strength.

Phoenix has been the birthplace of many startups that have gone on to become major global companies, such as GoDaddy, LifeLock, Insight, Infusionsoft and Tuft & Needle.  A recent survey of U.S. Chief Information Officers counted Phoenix as one of the top 10 metropolitan areas for entrepreneurship. This town is on a roll!

solar robot pool cleaner label showingWe’re excited to be a part of the growing Phoenix entrepreneurial culture.  We’re dedicated to bringing solar powered and eco-friendly pool cleaning and maintenance solutions to consumers. Our mission is to introduce the technology and products that will make it possible to remove swimming pools from the electrical power grid. The Solar-Breeze NX robotic pool skimmer is the first in this line of products and will be followed over the next few years by other solar-based pool cleaning and filtration technologies.

With the support we have experienced here in Arizona, we brought our idea to life and launched a successful Kickstarter campaign.
